The first Quadrant we use is Positive Reinforcement and pair it with Negative Punishment.
Once we have Loaded the Mark/Classically Conditioned the dog to understand that that the click/yes is a good thing leading to a reward of sorts, we will start moving towards the addition of verbal commands to our luring positions.
We also utilize this opportunity to teach the dog the Negative Punishment quadrant as well.
I would like to point out that at this time of our program...there is NO FORCE meaning no physical correction. We simply start communicating with our dog until it learns our training language. We want this to be a fun and engaging experience and not a traumatic or resentful one.
